As the New Hampshire primary approaches, a recent Boston Globe/Suffolk University/NBC-10 Boston poll indicates that former President Donald Trump continues to command a significant lead among likely Republican primary voters in the state. The poll reveals that Trump has garnered 50 percent support, with former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley coming in second place at 34 percent and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis drawing 5 percent support.
The survey, which is part of a daily tracking series released ahead of the New Hampshire primary, also highlights that approximately 87 percent of respondents expressed a high level of commitment to their candidate choice, stating they were either “not at all likely” or “not very likely” to change their preference before the primary on Tuesday.
This recent poll aligns with previous New Hampshire primary polls from the past week, consistently placing Trump in the lead with Haley securing the second position.
Nikki Haley, currently in third place after the Iowa caucuses, has intensified her criticism of Trump, declaring the GOP presidential primary a “two-person race” and challenging Trump to participate in a debate. Trump, in turn, has openly criticized Haley, stating in New Hampshire that she is “not tough enough” and lacks sufficient conservatism.
It’s essential to note that the Boston Globe/Suffolk University/NBC-10 Boston poll is a daily tracking survey, reflecting a two-day rolling average of 500 likely voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
