Bomb Threats Target Connecticut Democrats

On Thanksgiving Day, several Democratic lawmakers from Connecticut, including Senator Chris Murphy and Representatives Jim Himes, Joe Courtney, John Larson, Jahana Hayes, and Rosa DeLauro, were targeted with bomb threats. The threats, signed with “MAGA,” included claims of pipe bombs placed in mailboxes and swatting attempts. However, police found no evidence of explosive devices at their residences.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued a statement condemning the threats as “unacceptable” and “unconscionable.” He stressed that such violence has no place in a civilized society and called for the perpetrators to face full legal consequences. Jeffries also emphasized the need for increased security measures for members of Congress and their families.

5. Congressional Security Under Scrutiny

The Sergeant at Arms office is in close communication with Democratic lawmakers to ensure adequate protection. The incidents have reignited discussions about enhancing security protocols for elected officials, both in Washington and at their homes.
