President Joe Biden is strengthening his 2024 reelection campaign with a series of new senior aides.

The new hires underscore the close collaboration between the Biden campaign and the DNC. Among the key appointments are:

  • Ammar Moussa, currently the DNC’s national press secretary and rapid response director, will serve as the director of rapid response for Biden’s reelection campaign. This position will be instrumental in handling and responding to emerging issues and events.
  • María Carolina Casado, known as Maca and currently the DNC’s director of Hispanic media, will assume a similar role within Biden’s campaign, focusing on Hispanic media outreach.
  • Grace Landrieu, previously the director for economic policy and labor at the National Economic Council, will take on the role of policy director for the Biden campaign. This role involves shaping the campaign’s policy agenda.
  • Carla Frank, who recently served as a special assistant to the president and deputy political director at the White House, will oversee the national advisory board and surrogate operations for the 2024 campaign. This role will involve engaging key surrogates to promote Biden’s candidacy.

Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s campaign manager, expressed excitement about the new additions to the team, highlighting their diverse experiences that will aid in reaching voters crucial for victory in the 2024 election.

In light of these appointments, the DNC is also welcoming new staff members to fill the roles left by those joining the Biden campaign. Marco Frieri, an economist and news commentator, will become the DNC’s new Hispanic media director. Sarafina Chitika, formerly the deputy communications director for Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), will serve as the DNC’s national press secretary.

Notably, Biden has kept his campaign lean at this early stage of the 2024 presidential election, leveraging the robust resources of the DNC to support his efforts.
