New York Governor Kathy Hochul, along with Attorney General Letitia James, announced the creation of the Empire State Freedom Initiative. This program is designed to address potential regulatory threats and protect reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ protections, and gun safety laws.

Nationwide Coordination Among Democratic States

Democratic attorneys general have been preparing for months to address policy changes under a new Trump administration. California Attorney General Rob Bonta emphasized that extensive planning has been underway, with strategic legal frameworks set to protect state autonomy and values.
