The White House has issued a strong condemnation of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, for endorsing an antisemitic post on social media. Musk, known for advocating free speech, responded to a user’s post that made an antisemitic claim about Jewish communities promoting hatred against whites. The post also propagated a debunked antisemitic conspiracy theory.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates expressed strong disapproval, stating that it is “unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of Antisemitism in American history at any time.” The condemnation comes one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust, following the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

In a subsequent post, Musk defended himself, accusing the Anti-Defamation League of unjustly attacking the majority of the West, despite the majority supporting the Jewish people and Israel. This incident occurs amidst a backdrop of rising antisemitism in the United States.

Bates emphasized that the White House will continue to condemn antisemitism in all forms. The controversy surrounding Musk’s endorsement adds to concerns about the spread of hate speech and conspiracy theories on social media platforms.
