A series of coordinated pager explosions across Lebanon has left over 3,000 Hezbollah members injured or dead, with suspicions pointing to a cyberattack orchestrated by Israel. This unprecedented event is being described as one of the largest cyber operations in history, targeting Hezbollah’s encrypted communication devices.

Massive Pager Explosions Hit Hezbollah Members
Around 4:00 PM, a series of pager explosions occurred throughout Lebanon, severely wounding or killing thousands of Hezbollah members. The explosions were so severe that many individuals lost limbs, including hands and fingers, during the attack. This incident has revealed a significant breach in Hezbollah’s communication network.
Cyber Operation Suspected Behind Explosions
The explosions were reportedly caused by a cyber operation conducted by Israel. The attack involved the detonation of pagers shortly after receiving encrypted messages. As a result, not only did the explosions injure thousands of Hezbollah members, but many of their identities were exposed as well.
High-Level Casualties and Widespread Panic
Among the injured are high-ranking Hezbollah officials, as well as Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon and two of his bodyguards. Reports also indicate that the attack claimed the lives of some civilians, including children, causing widespread panic and overwhelming hospitals across the country.
Hezbollah’s Communication Breach
The pagers, which were introduced only three months ago to replace older compromised models, were meant to provide secure communication for Hezbollah during wartime. However, it appears that the newly issued pagers were tampered with, allowing them to be remotely detonated, marking this as one of the most significant intelligence operations in recent history.
Hospitals Overwhelmed with Injured
Hospitals in Lebanon, especially in southern regions, are overflowing with injured individuals. Emergency services are struggling to manage the situation, and many patients are being transported to other medical facilities due to the overwhelming demand. Over 170 individuals are reported to be in critical condition.
A Major Intelligence Operation
The operation has been described as a calculated intelligence move. Reports from the US and Israeli media suggest that the distribution of these pagers to Hezbollah was part of a broader strategy, aimed at replacing compromised devices with new ones that could be remotely detonated. This has now gone down as one of the largest cyber-intelligence operations ever.
