President Tayyip Erdogan affirmed Turkey’s commitment to rebuilding Gaza’s damaged infrastructure, hospitals, and schools in the event of a ceasefire with Israel, as reported by Turkish media on Saturday. Erdogan, speaking to reporters on his return from Berlin after discussions with German leaders, stated, “If a ceasefire is reached, we will do whatever is necessary to compensate for the destruction caused by Israel.”

Highlighting Turkey’s proactive role, he expressed the nation’s intent to contribute to the reconstruction of Gaza, focusing on repairing the ravaged infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and essential facilities for water and energy. Erdogan’s remarks underscore Turkey’s willingness to play a constructive role in post-conflict rehabilitation efforts.

In a continuation of his stance earlier in the week, Erdogan reiterated his call for Israel to disclose whether it possesses nuclear weapons. “As Turkey, we are making this call. Israel’s nuclear weapons must be inspected beyond doubt before it is too late. We will follow up on this,” he asserted, reaffirming Turkey’s stance on nuclear disarmament.

Addressing a separate issue, Erdogan mentioned receiving a letter from the families of Israelis held hostage by the militant group Hamas. He disclosed that Turkey’s intelligence agency had been mobilized to investigate the matter, demonstrating the country’s active engagement in efforts to address humanitarian concerns and facilitate potential resolutions.
