In a recent Quinnipiac University survey of registered voters in Pennsylvania, the key battleground state continues to showcase a close competition between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. The poll, conducted from January 4-8, demonstrates Biden leading with 49 percent, while Trump closely follows with 46 percent, signaling a tight race as the 2024 presidential election approaches.

Key Findings in Pennsylvania Poll:

1. Close Margin:
The poll reveals a narrow gap between Biden and Trump, with the former holding a slight lead. This closely mirrors the 2020 election results, where Biden edged out Trump by just over 1 percentage point in Pennsylvania.

2. Third-Party Candidates Impact:
In a hypothetical matchup involving third-party candidates, Biden secured 41 percent support, Trump received 39 percent, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. garnered 11 percent, Green Party candidate Jill Stein obtained 4 percent, and independent candidate Cornel West trailed with 2 percent.

3. Biden’s Approval Ratings:
Only 40 percent of Pennsylvania voters approved of Biden’s job performance, with 58 percent expressing disapproval. In comparison, Democratic Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro received a higher job approval rating of 59 percent.

4. Senate Race Dynamics:
In the race for the Senate, incumbent Democrat Sen. Bob Casey leads Republican challenger David McCormick by 10 percentage points, with a 53-43 percent margin.

5. Electoral College Significance:
Pennsylvania, with its 20 electoral college votes, remains a critical state, as demonstrated in both the 2020 and 2016 elections, where Trump won by a narrow margin.
