Haley Declines Interest in Trump Cabinet Role

Nikki Haley, the former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, stated that she had “no interest” in being part of Donald Trump’s Cabinet for his second term. During an episode of her radio show, SiriusXM’s Nikki Haley Live, she clarified that Trump was aware of her stance and that there was no ambiguity in their relationship about her role.

2. No Personal Request Made to Trump’s Team

Haley recounted an interaction with Steve Witkoff, a key figure in Trump’s administration, who had visited her in South Carolina. Witkoff, seeking a “truce” between her and Trump, inquired if Haley wanted anything from the administration. Haley stated that she told Witkoff there was nothing she wanted, reiterating her position that she had no personal requests or ambitions regarding a role in the administration.

3. Haley’s Relationship with Trump

The relationship between Trump and Haley has been complex, especially after she challenged Trump during the Republican primaries. Despite their differences, Haley expressed her continued support for Trump. However, during the election season, she remained largely on the sidelines and did not actively campaign for him. Trump, in turn, expressed gratitude for Haley’s service but made it clear on social media that he would not be offering her a position in his second-term Cabinet.

4. Haley Reflects on Trump’s Leadership Style

Haley also discussed her interactions with Trump’s transition team and her thoughts on the Cabinet. She encouraged Trump to “surround himself with people that are going to tell him the truth,” but she again emphasized that she had no personal interest in seeking a role within the administration. She acknowledged that Trump could be “shallow at times,” but she was at peace with the situation and her current position.

5. Haley’s Comfortable Stance

Despite the ongoing discussions about a potential Cabinet role, Haley remains confident in her own career path. She clarified that she did not take any of Trump’s actions personally, adding that she was comfortable with her decision and her place in the political landscape.
